A Mother Daughter duo
My name is Joanne Farrant I am a proud Gunditjmara and Kamilaroi woman. I am a Mother of 6, wife and Grandmother. I have always had a love for art, which had begun from when I was a child. Watching my Uncle Bill Brunette who was a well respected artist and Jinaburra, Kabi Kabi Elder sit around and create beautiful artwork, he always welcomed me to sit down with him and paint, sharing his knowledge of art with me, which had inspired me to start painting. I am grateful for all that he had taught me.
My name is Karinda Farrant I am 26 years old and a proud Mother of 3 beautiful babies. I am a Gunditjmara, Mutti Mutti, Barkindji and Kamilaroi woman. My family recently lost our beloved Grandmother Eunice Ina Wright; which where the name Ina Art comes from, she was a loving, proud Grandmother and was loved by all. I love that I can honour her name in every piece of artwork I finish. To be able to carry her name through my journey of art means everything to me. Thank you all, for your support.
